Dave Curry, Owner & Coach

Gymnastics has been part of Dave’s life since a young age. His mom signed him up at age 4 when he would climb all the trees in their yard and showed his fearlessness at such a young age. Dave grew up in Howard County and competed at Gym Plus for many years. He started his coaching career at age 20 at Gym Plus and then started the boys’ program at Columbia Gymnastics. Dave purchased the gym in 2021 and works hard to make sure all facets of the gym work well from classes to birthday parties to teams. Dave’s philosophy for his approach to working with all the athletes of the gym can be described by one of his favorite quotes. The quote is from Amos Alonzo Stagg who coached his team to the national championship in college football, twice. He was asked, “What do you think of your team?” He responded, “I’ll let you know in 20 years.” He knew that his greatest victories as a coach of young people had very little to do with a scoreboard and much more to do with the impact he would have on the rest of their lives. This is a quote that drives Dave’s work each and every day!
